Light Tackle Sport Fishing for Lake Trout, Rainbows, Browns and Kokanee

Lake Tahoe offers the best Kokanee and Lake Trout fishing in California and Nevada.  The state record Kokanee and Lake Trout came from Tahoe.  Kokanee record is 4lb. 15oz. and the Lake Trout record is 37lb. 8oz.

Will be either Captain Kombiz, Captain Geoff Hanlon, or Captain Neil Cohen. Kombiz, Geoff, and Neil were all born and raised in Tahoe, and have fished the streams and lakes in the area since they were youngsters. Together they have 30 years of guiding experience on Lake Tahoe. They are licensed, professional guides with outstanding knowledge of where the fish are located and how go get them to bite. Your guide is fully insured, licensed by the California Department of Fish and Game and are U. S. Coast Guard licensed Captains.

You'll be fishing aboard a 19 foot Starcraft Islander, 23 foot Crestliner or a 32 foot Farallon. All are cuddy cabins, fully equipped with a porta potty, VHF radio, fish finder, wireless remote steering, and all the latest fishing gear, using only light tackle, vertical jigging or Electric Downriggers.

A.M. trips are 5 Hours.

Everything provided except a fishing license. All bait, tackle, drinks, snacks, and fish cleaned and sacked.

2010 prices range from $95 for children accompanied by an adult to $110 for adults per person. This price includes everything (no fuel surcharge) except a fishing license. A one day license is available on the boat for $13.40.

Guided sport fishing for Rainbow, Kokanee, and Lake Trout (Mackinaw)

Mackinaw record is 37 lbs. Mackinaw average 3-5 lbs and fish from 6 to 10 lbs. are common. Kokanee Salmon are smaller than mackinaw, but are very numerous and catches of 20 to 30 fish on light tackle are normal from mid-July through August.

Directions to Tahoe Keys Marina.  From Reno take Hwy. 50 west into California to Tahoe Keys Blvd.  From Sacramento take Hwy. 50 east to Tahoe Keys Blvd.  Turn towards the lake (north) on Tahoe Keys and go 9 tenths of a mile to the first stop sign which is Venice Drive.  Turn right on Venice and go 3 tenths of a mile to the end of Venice and go into the driveway to the marina.  Drive to the far end of the driveway, about 200 yards and park on the left.  I meet my customers at the marina office (Harbor Masters Office).
